I was looking into a few other types of music that matched my song choice (Marilyn Manson - Resident Evil Theme) for research. Then my brain, amoyingly (amazing + annoying), just remembered a few select songs that have now caused a battle within my mind in which the songs are dueling it out for ultimate supremacy so they can go on and become the centerpiece of my video jockey project. The outcome will be decided on the fields of mind-maps, hopefully it won't be too messy though since I'll be needing the writing to be visible.
Disclaimer: Please excuse the horrendous quality of the videos. Simply ignore the video itself and enjoy the music :)
Right, song choices! Say what you will about how immensely geeky they are, but I don't care. They give me ideas and feelings that I can work with and I could (and have) listen to them over and over again and still enjoy them beyond normality.
Reprise
Starting things off we have a song choice which I was REALLY let down by because the first minute of it is SOOOOO fantastically immense and then let down by these lyrics (except the repeated "so cool...") which I kind of like the sound of, but I think it would have been much better without them. The best thing about this piece of music though is how intense, yet relaxed, it can make you feel. Whenever I close my eyes while listening to this track I feel so immersed within myself, like I'm exploring my mind and focusing myself on a particular thought or feeling.
Victor
These songs are actually all from the same OST (Official Soundtrack) so you'll notice some huge similarities with the last track and this one. This is because the previous track was a combination of this track and another track of the OST. I think this one is a much more suitable choice because of the complete lack of lyrics as well as it keeping that same vibe of focus I get from the previous track, but not quite as much which is why they're in this list.
Camellia
The final addition is different from the others because it doesn't give me that same feeling the previous two gives me, but instead fills me with this confused mix of feelings. This is because of how beautiful and peaceful this melody sounds but there is still this sense of sorrow and sadness within the music. It's like when you see someone who seems like the happiest person in the world, but really there is nothing but a pool of tears on the inside.
At this stage I should of had a solid idea of my song choice, but regardless I think this is a good way to expand my ideas as some of these songs are rather similar to one another. So whether I come out of this with a changed mind or end up right where I was before, I'll of gained something.
